N. Colmore Fatagravure Plate #88, Gyrcarling

Heavily Damaged Fatgravure Plate. I've not been able to get a satisfactory image from this one yet but I'm posting it because there was a reference to "gyrcarlings" in a <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/crowolf/225259100/in/set-72157594233476648/">previous posting</a> and I ran across this plate. I'll add more information as I am able. If anyone knows what a gyrcarling is please post in the comments. Some of Colmore's journals are a mix of Scots and English but I've not been able to find the word in the online DOST or any other Scots dictionaries I have access to.
